EDUCATION

The new education modules are an exciting opportunity for coaches, teachers and volunteers. No previous football qualifications are required so they are therefore ideal for the novice and the more experienced alike.

 

The majority of the modules are educationally based and are geared to delivery around the national curriculum, although club coaches may gain some useful insights to transfer to the club setting.

Curriculum KS2 - six hour course to support non PE specialist primary teachers and coaches. Enables candidates to understand the four key stands of the National Curriculum and apply them to football within the context of PE.

Out of Hours Learning (including SCL) - four hour course to support teachers & Coaches to plan and deliver appropriate Out of School programmes to engage non active 5-11 year olds. Supports School-Club links programme.

JFO Teachers' Course - six and a half hour course to train teachers to deliver the JFO course within their school - supports the SiS programme.

JFO Students Course - ten hour course to train students aged 14-19 to be young leaders in football - supports SiS.

Beginners' Guide to Coaching Disabled Footballers - four hour course to support teachers, coaches or young leaders working in special or mainstream education. Gives ideas on practical delivery and the inclusion spectrum.

Beginners' Guide to Futsal -  three hour course for secondary school teachers, young leaders or coaches. Basic instruction to the game of Futsal. Aims to support competition programme/framework.

Football Mentor - six hour course for secondary school teachers to support other teachers (secondary or primary) to develop football in their school either in or out of the curriculum.

Mentoring Young Leaders - three hour course for teachers, FE staff and Charter Standard club coaches responsible for young leaders as part of Step into Sport (SiS).

Working with Teams - six hour course for primary or non specialist secondary teachers, Level 1 coaches and young leaders. Provides practical ideas on how to run teams including work around team talks, team philosophy and formations. Supports competition programme/framework.

Movement and Handling - three hour course for primary teachers, Level 1 coaches and young leaders. Practical ideas to develop movement and handling skills that can be used as an introduction to goalkeeping and build on fundamental movement skills.
