Disability Football

Manchester FA is commited to providing football for all.  Manchester FA is recognised for it's vital contribution within Disability Football.

As part of the legacy programe of hosting the Partially sighted world championships in 2004 Manchester FA employed a full time Disability Football development officer, in partnership with the Football Foundation and Active England. This funding remained in place until December 2008.

During that time Manchester FA co-ordinated the Greater Manchester Ability Counts Football League, which is now a Charter Standard League.

In addition, Manchester FA in partnership with Manchester United Foundation offers a Centre of Excellence for all thos players with Diabilities that aspire to playing for England at the highest level.

Manchester FA are also working closely with The Football League Trust and The Football Pools together with Oldham Athletic Community Trust to create funding for a further Disability Officer.  The post will be a 3 year post starting in 2010 and running throgh to 2012.
