Since 2003, 11 projects have received financial support towards facility development. This has resulted in a total investment of £4,665,920, of which the Football Foundation has contributed £3,088,383 (66%).
Nine of these projects are now completed, one of which is Mitchell Shackleton FC in Irlam.
The club needed a new pavilion with four changing rooms, additional fencing and improvements to a pitch on a site which was previously under-utilised.
They made a total investment of £210,595, towards which the Football Foundation contributed £165,106, and the new facility has helped to sustain adult football at Mitchell Shackleton.
The improvements have also meant that the club can now cater for more people, creating opportunities for mini-soccer and girls' & women's football for up to fifty new participants.
