Manchester FA - developing football for everyone
Development - take your skills to the next level

Girls' & Women's Football

The principle aims of Manchester FA are to maximise participation, increase opportunities and increase quality (for players, administrators, officials and coaches). Our work on women's football fulfils all these objectives.

Women's football is an integral part of the footballing world in England. Manchester FA is committed to the development of the women's game from grassroots to the very top level.

Established in 2000, the Cheshire & Manchester Women’s League remains an integral part of grass roots introduction to football for players aged 16 and above.

The recent introduction in 2003 of the South Manchester Girls' League is also an integral part of the development of the girl’s game for players under 10 and under 12’s. Along with the Oldham Girls' League, which provides opportunities for girls under-12, 14 and 16,
it has contributed to a steady rise in the participation of girls' and women’s football in the county.
