PRESS RELEASE

As Chief Executive I am delighted to announce the recruitment of the Referee Development Team here at Manchester FA. Their role will be to work together and support the Referee Development Manager in enhancing the opportunities and provision for refereeing in Manchester. The Team will be the workforce that supports all aspects of refereeing.

The process of application resulted in three days of interviews for the posts and with over 40 applicants for 11 posts there were some difficult decisions to make.

The outcome was the joint decision of myself and the Referee Development Manager Peter Roberts and I am delighted to announce the team is as follows:

• Academy Co-ordinator – Danny Roberts
• Appointments Co-ordinator – Phil Morris
• Assessor Co-ordinator – John Martin
• Basic Referee Course Co-ordinator – Anthony Moore
• Coach Co-ordinator – Eddie Evans
• Discipline Co-ordinator – John Ferns
• Education Co-ordinator – Dave Addison
• Mentor Co-ordinator – Robert Darfi
• Quality Assurance Co-ordinator – Ian Hart
• Small Sided / Futsal Co-ordinator – Jason Rostron
• Women and Girls Co-ordinator – Irene Di Giulio

All of the above have officiated at a range of levels within refereeing and possess expertise in a wide range of areas.

In addition to the above team I am keen on ensuring that there is active succession planning in place within this team and there will be a number of persons who were interviewed who have been offered supporting roles to assist the RDT and to learn more about the particular role they are covering.

Each member of the Team will have a unique email contact address and each will sign an agreed service level agreement together with an agreed code of conduct.

Finally, I would like to congratulate the above who will all play a vital role in the progression of refereeing in Manchester and I am looking forward to working with them over the next few months.

Regards

Colin Bridgford
Chief Executive
Manchester FA
