Now in its sixth year the award has been commissioned to reward the dedicated, hard working grounds staff across the county FA region, and in turn beat of national competition and hopefully go on to be rewarded by The FA.
So does your local club have a playing surface that is the envy of all visiting sides, nurtured with love, care and attention? Does your groundsman employ secret methods to make those blades of grass look their best? If so then this is the opportunity for the football community to honour these dedicated groundsmen for all their hard work.
If you’re local club groundsman is a member of the affiated club (Step 7 and below clubs only); and is not employed by an external contractor or maintenance company, then go ahead and make your nomination. The award scheme is to honour the efforts placed on his/her work over the season.
Groundmans are assessed not only on the quality of the pitch, but are also considered against their knowledge, the resources available to him, and how often the pitch it in use and whether he is full or part time.
