For a second year, we are looking to recruit and develop young leaders aged between 14 -17 at our county event at Wright Robinson Sports College on Thursday February 18th 2010 from 9.30am to 4.30pm
The Young Leadership Event will cater for the demand that we experience for young volunteers coming into football from local FA Charter Standard clubs, schools, and leadership academies. It will provide workshops around Coaching Youngsters (5 -11s), Disability and Refereeing. The workshops will be delivered by qualified coaches and Manchester FA tutors and will provide the Young Leaders with lots of knowledge and ideas, and empower them to make a difference in their football communities.
By applying for this event, all selected Young Leaders will have automatically enrolled onto Manchester FA’s Young Leadership Programme. This is a scheme to support young people in volunteering in football related activities. As a member of this scheme you must honour the requirement to commit to 10 hours of voluntary work in their local football club and/or school in order to use their new skills and develop their leadership experience.
Manchester FA will select 2 young leaders from this event to attend the 4 day FA National Young Leadership Camp in July 2010.
Any Young Leader who has attended last years event at Platt Lane is encouraged to attend as they will undertake a different course programme including a certificated NEW FA module and a workshop with a Daily Telegraph sports reporter Jim White. Please indicate you are a returnee on the application form.
