Manchester FA recently delivered a disability grassroots consultation evening, which involved a National/Regional update from the National FA’s Disability Club and Project Officer - James Watkins and a local update from Manchester FA’s Social Inclusion Coordinator – John Hurst
The main outcomes from the disability consultation highlighted the lack of governance at grass roots level, Top heavy competition with less open entry access, a need for more partnership work and develop better relationships with mainstream and specialist schools.
John Hurst quoted ‘There is some fantastic work currently being delivered by our grassroots coaches in Manchester and moving forward Manchester FA must support them more. The consultation evening was a great opportunity to speak with our coaches, clubs and projects to understand their needs and future challenges faced‘
