AFC Urmston Meadowside to host the annual Communtiy Football Day

    •

We're looking for teams to take part in our free festival of football.

The annual McDonald’s FA Community Football Day (CFD) provides opportunities for thousands of players and volunteers to get involved in local grassroots football across the country.

On Saturday 5 August, the day before the Community Shield at Wembley, hundreds of young footballers will flock to AFC Urmston Meadowside as part of The McDonald’s FA Community Football Day to enjoy a football fun day for the local community. The event has been arranged and hosted between the club and Manchester FA to celebrate their 40th anniversary and also their achievement in the Community Awards last year (2016 North West Charter Standard Community Club Regional Winner).

On the day we'll acknowledge our 2017 award winners of the Community Awards as approximately 60 teams will take part at the Lees Field facilities. Please be aware places are going quick, so download the entry form at the bottom of this page.

Here's a brief overview for the plan of the day (timings are subject to change):

11:30am-1:30pm (U9 & U10s Girls) 1:30-4:30pm (U11s Boys)

Between 11:30am and 1:30pm our newly-crowned National Community Award Winners (Charter Standard Development Club), Cerebral Palsy United will be playing against various teams. If you are interested in playing we are looking for at least one team at the following age groups; U15s (7v7), U12s (7v7), U10s (7v7) and U8s (5v5).

Please be aware that you would be playing against a team two years higher. For example, an U15s team would compete against their U16/17s in the showcase games.

With the above timings and age groups in mind we are looking for the following number of teams to take part. Age groups are in-line with the new 2017/18 season.
