What is membership?

Under FA Regulation any club wishing to play sanctioned football across Greater Manchester in the 2017/18 season MUST be affiliated to a County Football Association. At Manchester FA we provide a membership package that includes affiliation to Manchester FA along with many other benefits.

Important Changes

Mandatory Youth Personal Accident Insurance
Ahead of the 2017/18 season, The FA has made personal accident insurance MANDATORY for all youth football. This brings it in to line with the mandatory personal accident insurance for adults playing football. Membership for the 2016/17 season included a basic level, however The FA have stipulated a higher level of cover is required. This will be included in your membership for 2017/18.

As per previous seasons, Manchester FA has negotiated a bespoke discount with Bluefin should your club wish to upgrade the level of cover. Further details will be distributed about this.

Player Registration
As you will be aware, Manchester FA launched 'Player Registration' on Monday 14 November 2016. This is a huge step forward to making club administration easier and more efficient.

At Manchester FA's March General Meeting, members voted in favour of introducing a new membership rule:

1.III: To be granted membership of the association, all categories of member clubs (excluding categories 2 and 3) must have their players registered on The FA's Whole Game System.

Committee Safeguarding Training
In order for a club with youth teams to able to complete membership for the 2017/18 season, the following committee members must have completed the online safeguarding training:

Chairperson, Secretary, Welfare Officer

The training can accessed by clicking HERE. It takes approximately 40 minutes to complete, your Club Welfare Officer has been made aware of this training and will be able to support you.
