Our Game starts to take shape…

Manchester FA recently announced the removal of its Council to be replaced with ‘Our Game in Manchester’. Our Game in Manchester will ensure that our governance truly reflects our grassroots community.

As part of the formation of the new governance structure we have identified two exciting volunteering opportunities to enable you to get involved with Manchester FA and make a difference. So today we are advertising two roles:

An Independent Chair of Refereeing in Manchester

An Independent Chair of the Inclusion Advisory Board in Manchester

The Independent Chair of Refereeing opportunity follows a strategic review of Refereeing in Manchester. One of the outcomes of this review was the recommendation for an Independent Chair. Once the role is filled we will be able to announce further changes ahead of the 2017/18 season with some exciting roles within our Referee Development Team.

Our Inclusion Advisory Board already has a valued membership but it is keen to appoint an independent person to join Manchester FA to strategically shape and challenge inclusion and diversity.

Deb Owen, Chair of the Board at Manchester FA commented; "Since joining Manchester FA in 2009 I have worked with the CEO, Colin Bridgford and the rest of the Manchester FA team to modernise our governance and ensure that we are reflective of the football family in Manchester. We are delighted that following our recent General Meeting we are now able to begin the formation of 'Our Game in Manchester' which we believe will revolutionise the way grassroots football is governed at a local level in our city. The two roles that are advertised today are the first step towards our vision."

Colin added; "These two roles are just the start of an exciting and innovative way of ensuring the community of grassroots is at the heart of what we do. Over the next few months there will be further opportunities around Coaching, Women & Girls, Safeguarding and League Development. So keep an eye out for your chance to help shape the future in Manchester."

Both advertised roles have an application deadline of Friday 26 May.
