Curzon Ashton let a 3-0 lead slip as they were held to a draw with Boston United at York Street.

Jake Dunwoody headed in Ben McKenna’s cross to put the Nash ahead inside four minutes.

Dan Shaw’s back-post header doubled Curzon’s lead, before McKenna netted a superb solo goal just after the hour-mark.

However, the Pilgrims immediately responded as Brad Abbott was on target after Curzon failed to clear from a corner.

Three minutes later, Reece Thompson tapped in after Abbott’s attempt cannoned back off the post to reduce the deficit to just one.

Boston then equalised in the 75th minute; Abbott hammering in Thompson’s ball into the open net.

Despite the draw, it was enough to move Curzon out of the relegation zone.

Salford City’s lead at the top was cut to just two points as Aidan Connolly’s strike condemned the Ammies to a 1-0 loss away at York City.

Connolly’s chipped effort came back off the post and struck goalkeeper Max Crocombe before going into the net.

Jon Parkin missed the chance to add a second for the Minstermen but he smashed his penalty against the bar.

On Friday, FC United of Manchester played out a goalless draw with Chorley at Broadhurst Park.

The result means FC United climb a place into 12th.

Unfortunately all other MFA sides in the Northern Premier League and North West Counties Football League had their fixtures postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
