Gemma joins the Manchester FA team with a wealth of communications and marketing experience gained from her roles at both Arsenal and Burnley FC.
Graduating in 2012 from the University of Leeds with a first in BA (hons) Broadcasting, Gemma has since worked with a range of national and international businesses on their marketing and communications strategies, most recently working with The Fan Experience Company as a Club Assessor across the EFL and FA WSL.
Gemma spoke of her appointment, “As someone who lives and breathes football at every level, I am very excited to be joining Manchester FA. Growing up involved in the game, alongside the work in my previous roles in Premier League clubs, I recognise the power of football and the impact it can have. This is a football city and I am looking forward to raising the profile of Manchester FA by telling the stories of the incredible work done here”.
Rachael Birchall, Chief Operating Officer for Manchester FA spoke of Gemma’s appointment to the team, “Gemma is a wonderful addition to our team and to grassroots in Greater Manchester. Her passion for the game at all levels is clear and Manchester FA is delighted to have recruited someone of Gemma’s calibre to the team. I look forward to working with Gemma”.
As Communications and Marketing Manager, Gemma will:
· Develop a robust and effective Communication plan to support Grassroots Football
· Manage the portfolio of Manchester FA communications platforms, including social media
· Be responsible for communications with all our key stakeholders within and outside of football
· Be the first point of contact for all Media enquiries to Manchester FA
