£1.5 million is available for clubs to create new female and disability teams

Grow the Game is back for the 10th year in a row, with £1.5m available for clubs to turn their aspirations of creating new female and disability teams into reality.

The scheme, which is funded by The FA and Sport England, and delivered by the Football Foundation, prioritises support for traditionally under-represented groups in grassroots football.

Last year’s edition gave approximately 16,000 people the chance to get involved, by creating 884 female and 257 disability teams across the country.

Grow the Game grants of £1,500 will be made available for every new team created, helping to relieve the financial burden on clubs by contributing towards FA coaching courses, first aid kits, league affiliation costs, referees’ fees, new kit or equipment.

The application window for Grow the Game is now open and closes on 31st May, providing the budget has not been committed by this date.

Clubs seeking more information on the scheme should contact Manchester FA through the link below, or visit the Football Foundation website.
