Tom Sarah and Chris Leave Manchester FA

Changes at Manchester FA

We say thank you, and goodbye, to Tom, Sarah & Chris this Summer

This summer, Manchester FA will be undergoing a period of change as we see a number of colleagues leave the organisation for their next challenges. With this change comes new opportunity and in addition to the replacements to these roles, we have also advertised a number of exciting new roles that have been created this summer.

We wanted to take this opportunity to publicly thank the following colleagues for their outstanding achievements and dedication to Manchester FA, whilst also allowing them the opportunity to provide any comments directly to you, our members.

Tom Elliott - Referee Development Officer

"I am leaving Manchester FA to move away to Australia. Something I’ve always wanted to try and will both referee and hopefully remain involved in Football over there.

I’m proudest of the quality and variety of opportunities there are now for Manchester FA officials. Whether that be PGMOL initiatives or brand new FA Courses, myself and the RDT are trusted by the respective authorities and in turn our match officials can benefit hugely.

Examples include:
New Ref Courses
Mentor & Observer Training Workshops
PGMOL Matchday Experience Initiatives
Manchester City & Manchester United fixtures and tournaments

To the refs, ‘It’s been a privilege to meet, know and work with you all. Good luck on your refereeing journey, wherever it takes you!’

Sarah Cummings - Football Development Officer (Clubs & Leagues)

Sarah is leaving the business to begin a new chapter in her career with The FA, where she will be joining them in a role which supports England Football Accreditation.

"I am most proud of the way our clubs, leagues and volunteers overcame the challenges of the pandemic. The sense of community and resilience across our network was incredibly inspiring to be a part of, and has been pivotal to ensuring that grassroots football can thrive again across Greater Manchester.

It has been a real privilege to support the development of grassroots football across Greater Manchester, working alongside a network of passionate volunteers who inspire us every day with their contribution to the game. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the Clubs, Leagues and Volunteers for everything that you do to make football happen, for the impact that you have on your local communities, and for the support you have given me during my time at Manchester FA. I’m delighted that my new role will be continuing in football, and I hope our paths will cross again in the future."

Chris Berrevoets - Football Services Officer (Competitions & Membership)

Chris is leaving Manchester FA for a completely new challenge.

"I’m most proud of creating lifelong memories assisting the delivery of 2021/2022 county cup finals which saw large crowds enjoy a variety of cups being lifted."

"Thank you to all the volunteers in all the leagues and clubs who work tremendously hard to ensure that the county cups remain a integral part of grassroots football."
