Find out about local opportunities to play, coach, referee and volunteer in football. Within Greater Manchester we have over 50 women's teams.

Whether you're a beginner trying football for the first time, want to play at a high level or maybe you're getting back into the game, we can signpost you towards the right opportunity.

Manchester FA initiatives supporting Women's Football include:

Club and League Support
Women’s Recreational Football League (October to May)
Women’s Summer Football League (June to August)
North Manchester Women's Recreational Football League (From Autumn 2019)

Manchester FA work with leagues, clubs and providers to engage female participants at every level of the game. Here you will find information on local opportunities within women and girls leagues, small sided football and coaching, refereeing and volunteering opportunities across Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester Women’s Football League provides the pathway into women’s football by offering a three division county league structure which enables teams progressing from junior football to play within the under 18s division, teams looking to develop their football to play within division two and more established women's team to compete within division one, which enables promotion to the North West Women's Regional League structure.

Looking for Futsal, Small Sided or recreational formats?

Manchester FA work in partnership with the University of Manchester to deliver the Kickaround Recreational Women's League which provides 6-a-side football for women on Thursday evenings. You can enter the league as a team or as an individual where we can add you into an existing team. For more information, contact Football Development Officer (Women & Girls'), Olivia Laiker

Where can I find my local team?

You can find information on all Women and Girls’ teams in your area by contacting our Football Development Officer (Women and Girls'), Olivia Laiker. Please send your age and postcode to Olivia and she will send across some fantastic local opportunities to get involved with.

Other areas to look at are The FA's 'Gameplan for Growth' as well as our most senior sides: Manchester City Women and Manchester United Women.
