Manchester FA Safeguarding Club of the Month January 2019

Aim FC kick off 2019 as Safeguarding Club of the Month

Safeguarding is at the Heart of What we do!

Safeguarding all who participate in the game in Greater Manchester is the number one priority for Manchester FA. Manchester FA have an ambitious plan to provide opportunities for everyone within the game – whether a player, volunteer, coach, referee or administrator. These opportunities will only be realised where Manchester FA ensure safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.

Ashton-under-lyne club Aim FC have been awarded Manchester FA’s Safeguarding Club of Month for January.

The award recognises clubs that show a commitment to safeguarding throughout their operations and stand out to Manchester FA for their enthusiasm, care and proactive approach, ensuring that football within their club is safe and enjoyable.

Newly-formed Aim FC have 3 teams that play in the East Manchester League, with two under-11s teams and an u12s team. The club secured Charter Standard status in summer 2017 by ensuring all volunteers have CRCs and relevant qualifications and have since showed an unwavering commitment to safeguarding.

Designated Safguarding Officer, Lauren McCorry explains: “It is great to see Aim FC immediately recognise the importance of safeguarding as a number one priority, becoming Charter Standard within their first month in 2017. Since then, the Club Welfare Officer Lisa has been very pro-active, attending training sessions and matches as part of her role. With the club’s support, she also works hard to ensure that policies and codes of conducts are in place for all members of the club”.

Congratulations to Aim FC from everyone at Manchester FA. To learn more about the club, please contact Lisa on 07886331829 or email aimfootbclub@outlook.com
