GOT A QUESTION BEFORE YOU TAKE UP THE WHISTLE? FIND YOUR ANSWER HERE OR GET IN TOUCH!

You will be required to enter your FA Number (FAN) and password to book onto a course or create a FAN and password to book onto one if you don’t have this already. You can create a FAN on the registration page.

A new FAN for your son/daughter will need to be created for their booking as this will track their progress throughout their career.

The minimum age to book onto and attend a referee course is 14. There is no maximum age.
The course fee is £170.00 per candidate. All bookings are made through a secure online portal and confirmations of bookings are generated once payment is made. Courses tend to fill up quickly and are booked on a first come, first served basis.

This also includes our exclusive Referee Membership which is worth £35 and gives you access to extra benefits, whether that is guidance and support or offers and discounts, Manchester FA is committed to providing high-quality member benefits.

Candidates who book onto a referee course are required to read up on the official Laws of the Game before attending so that they are aware of the terminology and understanding of law to assist them through the practical course.

All referee candidates are required to complete an FA Safeguarding certification and anyone aged 16+ and officiating in youth football will need to have a valid FA CRC certificate in place to be registered to any matches upon successfully qualifying as a Manchester FA Referee.
