Former Chair of the Women & Girls' Working Group, Kate Ramsey, adds:

"Over the last couple of years, we have laid strong foundations for the Women and Girls' Working Group, with some of our key successes being:

- increased profile and social media reach for the female game across Manchester
- significant increase in the number of Wildcats delivery centres
- innovation fund bid creation and idea generation

UK-wide, we are seeing record attendances at elite women's games and increased television coverage, both of which are helping to grow the fan base for the sport. Manchester FA is committed to increasing access, participation and retention across the grassroots game, as well as providing clear and supported development pathways for talented players.

There is now a real opportunity for the right person to further develop the Women and Girls Working Group on the back of the 2019 World Cup and moving towards the UEFA 2021 Women's competition. With Manchester as a host city for this event, we must maximise the opportunities to showcase all that is good about the women's and girls' game whilst celebrating Manchester's very special place as a sporting city.

It is with regret that I am having to stand down from the group, but I will remain involved, firstly by directly supporting the process to identify my replacement and then by ensuring a full handover.

It has been an honour and a pleasure to work with so many dedicated people in this role, and I am really pleased with the progress made by the group since it was established.’’
