STATEMENT: FC United of Manchester and the Frank Hannah Manchester FA Premier Cup
In the light of recent investigations by The FA regarding player eligibility, Manchester FA has made the decision to remove FC United of Manchester from this season’s Frank Hannah Manchester FA Premier Cup competition.
The evidence collated by The Football Association was presented to Manchester FA’s Competitions Working Group to review and it has been decided to implement the only available sanction of removing the club from this season’s competition. This decision has been made in accordance with Competition Rule 23.01, due to a breach of Article 9.1 of FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.
FC United have communicated to Manchester FA that they do not wish to appeal this decision.
UPDATE - 29/01/19 - Manchester FA can confirm that Mossley AFC have been reinstated into the Manchester FA Frank Hannah Premier Cup Quarter Finals and will play Radcliffe FC away on Tuesday 5th February 2019 – 19:45 KO.
