Lionesses Head Coach looks forward to Manchester kick off

England Women’s Head Coach, Phil Neville, has expressed his delight that UEFA Women’s EURO 2021 is set to kick off at Old Trafford

Bury-born Neville, who made 263 appearances for Manchester United over the course of an eleven year stay at the club, has been Head Coach of England Women since January 2018.

Commenting on the news that Old Trafford has been confirmed as the venue for the opening game of the tournament, which England will contest, Neville said:

"It doesn’t get much bigger than managing your country at a home EURO and to have the opportunity to do so at a stadium that holds so many memories for me is huge.

“Old Trafford has a special place in my heart, but it is also one of the country’s most iconic football grounds, so today’s announcement is a significant one for the tournament.

“I’m looking forward to kicking off our WEURO2021 campaign in Manchester and to offering fans across the country the chance to watch the elite women’s game on home turf next summer.”
