Bits and Boots is a new initiative, which consists of pre-loved items of kit and boots that have been donated from our community.

The online store includes activewear such as shirts, shorts, jackets and football boots that range from Manchester City kit to Puma products, with some items also brought to the pop-up shop.

The pop-up shop was hosted by two members of our staff from 8am until 12 midday and turned out to be a successful event, with a large proportion of the pop-up shop stock purchased. 

We were also grateful to receive multiple donations from people at the pop-up shop, giving more opportunity for others to access playing football in Greater Manchester.

Bits & Boots hopes to alleviate some of the pressures of the cost of living crisis and ensure people can continue to remain active in sport and improve the retention levels of people taking part in physical activity across Manchester.

Manchester FA has partnered up with numerous organisations across Greater Manchester, to help those facing financial pressure remain in football. Greater Manchester is home to some of the highest concentrations of poverty and deprivation in the country. There are 620,000 people, out of a population of 2.8m, living below the poverty line in our city region.
