Referee Development

The FA Referee Course is just the beginning. Once completed, there is a wide range of development tools at your disposal should you have the desire to progress.

New Referee Group

Soon after the course is finished you'll be invited to our New Referee Group meetings. As the name suggests, here there will be like-minded individuals with who you can share your first experiences of refereeing.

There will be the chance to be mentored by more experienced referees, continue your learning in a safe environment and look towards the future and at what can be achieved if you invest in yourself.

Referee Development Group

Now no longer new to refereeing, it is time to start to look towards the future whilst honing your skills in more challenging situations.

You will receive coaching support, ongoing development events and even the opportunity to officiate at Manchester City's and Manchester United's world class training facilities on a regular basis.

Referee Academy

As a referee with huge potential to advance into the top amateur and semi-professional levels, you'll be selected to join Manchester FA's Referee Academy. Here under expert tuition, the guidance and support you receive will enable you to progress in every aspect both on and off the pitch.

The ultimate goal is to achieve status as a Supply League Official and become appointed to fixtures in The FA National League System.

Senior Referee Development Group

Support from Manchester FA doesn't stop when you get involved with the professional game. Here our elite referees receive the highest quality learning and development delivered by referees operating at the pinnacle of the sport, inspiring the group to become the best they can be!
